How to Join Your Art Therapy of MN Telehealth Session


Pre-Call Checklist:

  • Device: Use a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a working camera, mic, and speakers.
  • Browser: Ensure your web browser is fully up-to-date.
  • Connection: Use a secure Wi-Fi signal instead of cellular data for stability.
  • Audio: Use headphones to eliminate echoes or audio feedback.

Tip: Close other apps and tabs to prioritize processing power for the video call.


To Access and Join Your Telehealth Session:

  • Log In: To join your telehealth session, access your Art Therapy of MN client portal: https://www.therapyportal.com/p/atmn/
  • Find Appointment: Check the top of your home page for your session information and telehealth link.
  • Start Session: Click “Join Session” 5-10 minutes early to verify your device setup.
  • Permissions: Select “Allow” when your browser asks to access your camera and microphone.
  • Adjust Settings: Check the video preview and audio meter, select your hardware from the dropdowns, and enter your name.
  • Enter Call: Click “Join Session” to notify your clinician; wait in the virtual room until your provider admits you.
  • End of Session: You can rejoin from the home page banner if disconnected by mistake.

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • No Video/Audio: Close other apps using the camera (Zoom, Teams) and check system privacy permissions.
  • Connection Drops: Reduce bandwidth usage by closing unnecessary background tabs and applications.
  • Back-up Plan: Keep your phone handy to call your provider if the internet fails.
