Art Therapist and Pre-Licensed Counselor

I believe we all have an innate sense of what we need to heal. My goal as an art therapist is to help you find and trust that voice.

Lauren sees clients both virtually and in-person.
Lauren is accepting new clients.
I am a Black, Queer, Neurodivergent, and disabled cis woman who uses she/her pronouns. I work primarily with young adults (18-25), but also see high school-age adolescents (15-18) and adults (25-45). I enjoy working with cis women, trans folks, nonbinary folks, BIPOC folks, disabled and neurodivergent queer folks, especially those coming into their queer identity later in life. I enjoy supporting those navigating polyamory and ethical nonmonogamy.
My therapeutic goal is to walk beside you as you learn to return to your inner wisdom. Using both art and talk therapy, I take an intuitive approach with clients, meaning I sometimes have a felt sense of where a client is in their healing journey or what approach may work best. I use this felt sense, along with evidence-based practices, to help you decide what will work best for you in the art therapy space. I have such an interest in working with folks who are exploring who they are, who they want to become, and those open to intuitive and/or narrative approaches.
My focus is on folks living at the intersection of multiple marginalized identities. As such, I am interested in working with clients who live at the intersections of Disability, Neurodivergence, Black, Indigenous, People of Color, Queer, and Trans/Nonbinary identities. I bring my personal experiences to this work in a holistic, narrative, and strengths-based approach. I do believe it can be healing to work with an art therapist living at the intersections of multiple marginalized identities. I am here, ready to meet you where you are, to learn the stories you have about who you are and who you would like to become.

I earned my master’s degree in Art Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Adler Graduate School. I am supervised by Angela (Pitton) Abdo, LPCC.
